I know it should be simple, but I can't find a settings.cfg or whatever. Is there one file that holds my hotkeys and other options so I can reinstall the player?

Thanks a lot!

Settings can be exported by using "Advanced Options->Help / Export->Export->Settings"
If you use a custom keyfile you will have to back that up separately.

Thanks! That was simple, though the player has so many options it is hard to find things in a hurry.

You can use the above method or
open Windows Registry Editor, RUN>REGEDIT.EXE

Browse to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VirtuaMedia\ZoomPlayer

Right ClickThe Zoom Player Folder, & Click Export, & give the file a valid NAME , with date, so you can always roll back to a point in time.

IN BOTH CASES You need to ALSO BACKUP THE FOLLOWING DIRS INSIDE ZP's Install Folder (if Legacy install):

MediaAutoGraph\
Media-Data\
MediaGraph\
DVDGraph\
DVDAutoGraph\

Done.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned that Zoom Player can be set to save your config to a local file instead of the registry. The option has moved from v6 I think (which I don't have installed, so can't tell you where it is in that version), but in v7 it is located in Options-System-Save Configuration to a Local File. Now your config will be saved there, instead of in the registry. You just backup that file, along with your default.key file if you have changed it, and anything else you want to backup (the folders ByteM3 indicated if you want them as well).

I did the steps above and found that all settings were not exported.

I did not find a Media-Data folder though. Perhaps that is the issue.

Hi..

Generally, all settings are saved in the registry, and the only option for something to go wrong is supposed to be if you double-click the .reg file while ZP is on.. so make sure you close ZP and only then activate the .reg file.

If this is not the case... What folder do you call the "Media-Data" folder?? (so I can check)

Booga.

Booga.

I'm referring to the 4th post in this thread.

I found there are a bunch of settings that don't transfer using the methods described here.

Now I understand what folder you refer to.. blush.gif
As ByteM3 said, you need to copy those whole folders (in addition to the reg file),
so restoring would be to paste them back.
Are you infact saying that pasting those folders back where they were doesn't restore some related settings? Which? blink.gif
