Unlocking all Dolby-Decoder Features (incl. Dolby Headphone) for Nvidia DVD Decoder, when used with 3th-party mediaplayers like Zoomplayer:

Create a .reg file with this:

CODE
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{EAFD99D7-54B6-4e87-8C7C-6A3C85F8997C}]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{EAFD99D7-54B6-4e87-8C7C-6A3C85F8997C}\Instance]
"0"="4DC1-05D4-8D66-EEEE-67A1-5F4B"

... And import it to the registry.

This doesn't appear to work for PureVideo under Windows XP Professional x64.

Found the solution. If you are using Windows XP Professional x64, the following key needs to be added in addition to the above.

CODE
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{EAFD99D7-54B6-4e87-8C7C-6A3C85F8997C}\Instance]
"0"="4DC1-05D4-8D66-EEEE-67A1-5F4B"

Are there perhaps any similar hacks possible to allow the Cyberlink VC-1 decoder to be used outside of PDVD?

Hello, newby here. Although I am good at building hardware and rudimentary Windows exploring, I am total noob to hacking registry. Before I do something stupid can somebody please point me somewhere where I can learn how to import this code into registry and where in registry? Thanks in advance.

PS I just installed zplayer on machine that has nVidea card and PureVideo decoder installed. I can't get sound. I see that the decoder is engaged but no sound. Maybe this is the solution?

You need to copy the text in the "Code" block (surrouned by the dotted line) into a text file. Save that text file, then rename it to "whateveryoulike.reg". Right click on it, and select "Merge". Click OK when it asks if you're sure. You should then be able to use Dolby Headphone in Zoom Player.
