I wish that ZP would also feature a custom EVR renderer just as MPC. ZP 7 RC1 still produces judder when playing a full hd movie on my beamer (using DXVA).

Has v7 seen improvements to the EVR renderer or is EVR renderer supposed to be judder free?

You're right, your problems are caused by using buggy codecs / decoders I think. I'm glad Zoomplayer doesn't have built-in codecs because you cannot switch anymore then. I can play all files without installing other software, except of the divx/xvid/ac3 filter codec and the nvidia purevideo decoder. Never problems or crashes (since zp 4). Never install codec packs and free decoders etc!
The only problem I had before was quicktime audio-video sync but that's solved for me now.

No codec packs. I was referring to the Zoom Player install centre codecs, they are the only one's on my system.

Hi! Here is little bug report.

Skinning:
- in F8, F9 skin modes the pressed state image of "Hide Control Bar" button is trash;
- when using skin without image file (only .skn files), colors tint takes effect only on text and playlist's background (v6 v7).

Language files:
- mistake in "English.menu" in string 104 "...Funct`ion=..." (v7);
- in "English.dialog" no strings for Advanced Options->System->Screen Saver & Capture "displayed in", "Slideshow (seconds)", "Slideshow Transition" and "Smoothness (16-100)" (v7).

System:
- when using SendMessage external interface to show Navigation Interfaces and "Close on inactivity" enabled (e.g. 5 sec), Interfaces closes very fast (after first show-close), but if mouse cursor is hovers above the player all work fine. (v6 v7).

P.S. Sorry for my english:)

1. I've set the Enter key to open the last used navigator. It works fine unless the last used navigator is the new "Information", in that case Enter doesn't open anything.

2. I've been trying FFDshow to render subtitles. Here's what I've done:

- Open movie1.avi, which has a movie1.spanish.srt subtitle file. The movie plays and the subtitle is rendered correctly.
- Close movie1.avi.
- Open movie2.avi, which doesn't have any subtitles. The movie starts playing and FFDshow loads movie1.spanish.srt (which is in another folder) and renders it.

I guess that ZP should reset FFDShow's subtitle settings cause the last subtitle file used seems to be kept in its settings.

I'm using WinXP Pro SP3 and ffdshow_rev3026_20090705_xxl.

Another minor bug:

1. Open a file in windowed mode
2. Press alt-enter, ZP goes fullscreen
3. Press alt-enter again, ZP goes back to window mode
4. Press alt-enter again OR just enter, the file starts playing from the beginning

Thanks for this new version !

The new ActiveX for Quicktime works like a charm, I can finally open most of my camera videos with Zoom Player (I had problem with DirectShow for Quicktime movies...)
But I found a little bug : when I have watched a first .mov video and want to open another one (still a .mov), I get this error pop-up :
"Access Violation at address 77CA295D in module 'ntdll.dll'. Read of address 03B53740."
And the video doesn't start up. I have first to close Zoom Player and re-execute it to watch a second Quicktime movie...

Thanks in advance :-)

@egandt: No, there is no Delphi 64bit compiler (it might be released mid 2010). You'd also have problems finding all codecs in 64bit versions...

Icon Collection
Monitor Blanking Tool
ZP File Associations
ZP "Now Playing" script for mirc
System: Intel C2D 8400, 4GB RAM, Geforce 8800GT / Geforce 7200GS, Audigy 2 ZS, 6 Harddisks, 4 Monitors

Thanks for the update
Not having a Compiler would be an issue
Note on 64bit codecs, ifsearch around there are plenty of 64bit codecs out there, the only codecs missing are those that are commercial such as Cyberlink or CoreAVC but it is still possible to perform about 90% of what I'd eventually like with 64bit codecs.

thanks a lot for this new ZP version; one small finding:

- action: enable option 'System' -> 'Enable Control Web Server'
- observation: the setting isn't persisted when restarting ZP...

I'm very excited to test out this release!

Is there any documentation on how the v7 candidate will co-exist with my v6? I am so dependent on ZP that I fear messing up my highly customised v6 installation. Will they co-exist? Will removing v7 leave my current v6 intact?

Sorry if I have overlooked any information on this.

In zplayer.exe properties Zoom Player is called "Dish Player". So in "Open with" explorer menu it is called "Dish Player" too.

Confirmed. Also displays as Dish Player in Firewalls. Mistake...or name change for ZP appearing soon? rolleyes.gif *Insert spooky X-Files music here, lol*

Also, WMV file freezing the whole player (meaning you have to shut ZP down with Task Manager) when you seek them is more frequent in this version than in previous versions (though it was very comon in v6 as well). Proably about 50-60% of the time when playing a WMV file, if you seek, it brings the system to a halt. Again, no codecs installed other than those ZP installed itself, and I have made no changes to the configs of any of those either.

Hm, if I do that (pressing Enter at the last step), I get the 'Categories' navigation menu popping up on-screen (totally obscuring the video of course), and can't get rid of it - but according to the timeline, the video does not start from the beginning. If I use alt-enter instead of enter, ZP just goes back to windowed mode, again not starting from the beginning.

Someone at MajorGeeks will eventually notice that a new version has been released, and will update. I expect anyway that Blight and co. aren't pushing this new version too much because it is still not final. When a final is released, I expect that they will be more active in notifying people listing the older version.

I know there is a sticky warning against using them, but there is at least one codec pack that has a 64bit version.

Has nothing to do with ZP or renderer. MPC have a built in decoder. I use coreavc in zp and have no problems with that at all (ION htpc + projector)
