Hi, everybody! I am a new here.
I have a problem with sound in some videos. For example i've captured video from game using FRAPS. But after, this recorded video plays without sound in ZP. But in some other players (WMP, VLC, Winamp) sound is present. Under ZP's Options/System/Missing Formats i have a list of missing codecs that contains "MPEG Layer-3 Audio (MP3)". I've installed recommended codec (something strange with name DCBassSourceSetup). Also i've installed all possible codecs under Install Center. Some missing codecs appears (not MP3), but sound still not present. Also i have K-lite mega codec pack 4.3.4 installed. This problem appears not only in FRAPS captured videos, but in some other videos, for example videos which were encoded using Clone2Go Video Converter (it plays sound in every video also). Also, some of my videos i've uploaded on YouTube are without sound too... How it's possible? I mean, if i already have requiered codecs (MP3 codec goes with Windows, i know:) and other players are plays sound - how i can tell ZP to use those codecs? Does different players are using different versions (or esle?) of same codec? Maybe i have to look into Filter Management tab (register/unregister them)? I've tried it also, but with no luck... Is there some sort of universal solution to keep all players using available installled codecs? I love ZP very much! It's my favorite player - so functional, power and easy-to-learn, but those codec problems... My system: WinXP SP3, ZP v 5.01 Sorry for bad english. Thanks. vodkins |

Are you using the free version or the professional version? If you are running the professional version you can try disabling smart play and see if that works.

I have had a similar problem and solved it by using a different splitter.
Before I was not able to select a second audio track from within an MPEG file. I am currently using an Elecard MPEG demultiplexer. |

You may be missing an audio decoder. Start a file which the audio is missing. Right click on the screen and put your pointer over 'filter properties'. You are looking for the 'audio' decoder. If you click on the audio decoder, it should pull up the config panel or info panel for the decoder. If nothing comes up or an error, you will need to get the audio decoder and install it.
