We originally planned to release this last month but a few long-standing issues were finally resolved and we had to do some internal testing to see that everything was as stable as possible.

This version of Zoom Player is incompatible with v5.5/6.0 betas (except 6.0 RC2) that were installed in "Standard" mode (legacy mode installations are unaffected). If you've used a previous installation, it is recommended that you uninstall prior to installing this version.

If you do not wish to uninstall, you'll have to manually erase the following folder (from an admin account):
"%AppData%\Zoom Player"

Download:
v6.00 release candidate 3

Navigation interfaces (if you're not using the default drapes interface, you need to update):
Drapes Widescreen :: Drapes for Tablet devices :: Blue Chill :: Bill Chill for Tablet devices :: Charcoal :: Charcoal Widescreen :: Ivory :: Ivory Widescreen :: Mercury :: Onyx :: LCARS]

Changes from 6.00 RC2 :
CODE
  * New "/Browse" command line parameter instructing Zoom Player to open
the specified web address in its internal web browser.  This command line
works even if Zoom Player is already running.

    Example:
    zplayer.exe /browse:http://www.inmatrix.com

  * New Setting (Adv. Options / Interface / On Screen Display) allowing you
to select custom DVD & Media background images.

  * Added support for the PowerDVD v8 MPEG2 video decoder.

  * New CommAPI message 1860 allowing you to pass a web address (URL) for
    Zoom Player to open.

+ Dropping items into the playlist now drops the items at the mouse
    cursor position in the playlist.

+ Updated description of video renderers.

+ When opening the options dialog on a monitor with resolution too low
to display the entire dialog, the dialog will now cover more of the
    screen area.

+ Enabling/Disabling the DVD & Media Background images has moved to
"Adv. Options / Interface / On Screen Display"

  - The external command to "Enqueue/Play with" Zoom Player has been
moved to a shell extension under Windows 2000/XP/Vista, making it
    faster and more reliable.

  - The installer automatically sets legacy mode when running under
    Windows 95/98/ME.

  - A few more "divide by zero" bugs should be squashed with EVR.

  - Playing the next/previous file in the directory, or using similar
functions such as playing the next/previous file of the same type
in the directory didn't work with UNC paths (network paths).

  - Opening the media information dialog ("I") while fullscreen and
then switching to windowed mode would incorrectly show the dialog.

  - When Stay On Top was enabled, the seek-to hint window would appear
behind the main user interface window.

  - Erasing sub-directories in the file browsing navigation interface
    would fail under some circumstances.

  - Setting the control bar to be aligned with the top/bottom of
the screen instead of the video area didn't work properly.

  - Fullscreen Navigation Safe Mode (File Browsing/Media Library
    navigation interfaces) got broken.

  - Using the "Play all files in this directory" function from the
file browsing fullscreen navigation interface would crash.

  - Networked mapped drives didn't work well with the file browsing
    fullscreen navigation interface.

  - Playing a media file from one of the navigation interfaces no
longer shows the media background image before playing the file.

  - Left over debug code broke the media library navigator if no
drive D: existed on the system.

  - If transparent action OSD was enabled with OSD skinning enabled
prior to installing v6.0 RC2, visual glitches could occur in the OSD.

  - Under some conditions, the TCP port would not become accessible.

  - Some Windows Media settings were not enabled in the preimum version.

Not really a bug, but annoying issue...

Opening audio file in .FLAC format with associated .CUE with track list, OSD show only the album title and the album lenght, but I can't set OSD to show track title and track lenght. Note that pressing NEXT, track title appears on screen for a few seconds

That is something I fully support. You took away several key features (like the cutting function) months ago and gave people no way to upgrade.
I never bitched on these forums before but this is really starting to pi** me off.

If you want to milk more money from ppl (which I can understand since I like zoomplayer and you have done a lot of work since I registered) then at least make sure your upgrade system is in place BEFORE you take away functions in your tool that now need different registration levels...or don't take a year to release an upgrade that contains such a switch on your registration system.

Please get the registration system up and running ASAP, that's all I can say.

Unfortunately, the bug with external audiotracks is still there. Hope it will be fixed some time.

I installed ZP in Standard Mode but I noticed that ZP saves its file to C:\ProgramData instead of C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming

Im on Vista SP1. Is this normal?

Yes that's normal. That's the reason for the warning at the beginning of Blight's post.

Is it intended that "Lock OSD to: Custom" ("Interface: On Screen Display") be limited to Premium and above? This functionality was previously available in Professional and, since I don't use WMV, I believe that I have no other reason to upgrade to Premium. Or are there now other features in Premium that might make it worth the upgrade?

You could already use the best h264/AVC decoder to date with Zoom Player which is CoreAVC, has the fastest speed of all decoders and the best quality as well. BTW it comes with Haali Splitter as well which is indispensable when it comes to play mkv file types.

bgmedia.png and bgdvd.png no longer work with B3 (which uses bgdvd.bmp and bgmedia.bmp), but with anything earlier MediaImage.png or DVDImage.png worked fine as long as the default .bmp files where deleted, this makes the new version look like poorly on the HTPC as I use customized/randomized png based backgrounds on every reboot.

What can be done to fix this issue?

I have never gotten anything to play smoothly with CoreAVC, and it crashes a lot. And it don't support hardware acceleration. So no. How people can claim CoreAVC is the best is beyond me. I'll give them another shot when they release v2.0 (64bit finally)

Maybe your system is crap that's why u think CoreAVC is crap too.

On the third RC and we are still getting the invalid floating point error. This is getting beyond belief. Am I supposed to apply the hack that a member created a while back?
