This has been 6 months in the making, probably the longest for any version of Zoom Player to date.

Changes since v4.00 rc3:
* New "/SPEAKER:[value]" command line parameter allowing you to
set the Windows Speaker setting.  Zoom Player will restore the
default speaker value when exiting.  Possible values are:
   /SPEAKER:0 - Direct Out
   /SPEAKER:1 - Headphone
   /SPEAKER:2 - Mono
   /SPEAKER:3 - Quad
   /SPEAKER:4 - Stereo
   /SPEAKER:5 - Surround
   /SPEAKER:6 - 5.1
   /SPEAKER:7 - 7.1

+ Adding a chapter from the chapter editor dialog will now enter
the specified text as the chapter name if such a text was given.

+ Few small modifications to the Customized Media Playback dialogs.

+ TCP/IP controls expended even further (by a bit).

 - When applying an icon library you are now once again asked if
you want it applied only to the associated extensions.

 - Trying to open files bigger than 2gb would crash.

 - Trying to load a file while Zoom Player was running through an
external program (such as explorer) could fail if the file name
   was in unicode.

 - The Registered Filter Manager should now appear correctly when
   using non-standard font-sizes.

 - Some TCP/IP fixes.

Download Zoom Player v4.00 here.

i tried the /SPEAKER settings. they work. however they only seem to change the analog settings of the card. i.e. one can go from stereo to 5.1 etc. i was hoping there would also be a value to change from digital output to analog and vice-versa.

great job with 4.0 all the same.

Doh... fixed.

araghava:
That is the implementation of the SetSpeaker... function. If you were referring to something else, you should have said so originally.

Just upgraded from RC2 to 4.0 final and now I find SPDIF passthrough seems to be borked.

I don't think it's related to the ac3 decoder, as I've tested with Ac3filter (0.7 and 1.01rc5), Intervideo and Cyberlink all with the same result: If the ZP audio filter is enabled no sound passes through, but the moment I disable it everything works again.

As mentioned it worked fine with RC2 so if you've changed anything to the ZP audio filter since then I hope you'll consider changing it back

i did not realize that this api does not allow one to change from digital pass thru to analog and back. there must be an api that allows this. i'll try to find it and get back to you. however i still think that this is a usefull feature. thanks.

The digital/analog thing is card-specific I think.

damien:
DCoder is incharge of the ZP DSP filter, message him with your specifications, perhaps he can help.

I have tried the SPDIF with AC3Filter 1.0RC5 and it works very well...

@damien
Export your SP Settings to a .reg File and mail it to me together with a Screenshot of the Filters (and the filter versions) used in the Graph to "dcoder at dsp-worx.de"

EDIT: It seems the connection is fine, but when the Equalizer is enabled, the Sound is still passed to it. Have to check what's going on ...

EDIT2: ok, i think i´ve found it...
@damien, no need for settings anymore, just try to enable the ZP Audio Filter and then on the Equalizer Window, turn it on and off to see if there´s any difference.

That did the trick. As long as the EQ is set to off SPDIF passthrough works.

* New Entry (Advanced Options / Values / Other) allowing you to Auto-Get
the duration of Media Files according to file extensions.  The default
is not to Auto-Get as this slows down loading of play lists, however
an entry of "AVI;MP3;MPA;OGG" won't slow it too much.

in ZP 4.0 Pro (NVidia Fix) this option doesn't seem to be stored in the registry.
I did manually edited "OPAutoGetDuration"="AVI;MP3;MPA;OGG" and it loaded just fine but the next time I start ZP it's gone. I suppose on exit ZP just deletes it again

Congrats to 4.0, great piece of software !

One minor suggestion though: could you default the path to 7-zip executables to the default program files path instead of C:\Program files\... ?

You know, e.g. in my case I have a german XP, and therefore all my programs are installed in C:\Programme\...

So now I either have to create an additional Program files folde in my root dir just for 7-zip or rename every Program files -> Programme.

@mitko: what is the 'nVidia fix' ?

hmm, odd, I see it... it probably effects the older v4 as well.

netwolf:
You're going about it all wrong, Options / Values / Other, just set the paths there, no need to move your archive programs.

dcoder:
Is there a fix I should integrate? Please mail it to me.

I have "Disable the control bar in Window Mode" and
the new option "Always show control bar when playing audio in fullscreen" cheked,
but when I'm change from Fullscreen to Window Mode, the ControlBar appears...

never got it... I changed the base email to query at inmatrix dot com due to massive spam attacks.

BeRnA:
I'll take a look, probably an easy fix.

Yes, I know, but I have to change the path for every supported file extension (yes, I´m really that lazy :) )

So I thought it would be easier if you just used the default program path instead of C:\Program files\... as the default path (it´s really a minor issue).
