This is the final stretch, this version is feature-closed and should be stable. Barring any bug-reports this version may end up being 4.00 final.

Changes since RC2:
* VMR7 support added to Standard Media Mode and Customized DVD Mode.

 * New Entry (Advanced Options / Values / Other) allowing you to Auto-Get
the duration of Media Files according to file extensions.  The default
is not to Auto-Get as this slows down loading of play lists, however
an entry of "AVI;MP3;MPA;OGG" won't slow it too much.

 * New Setting (Advanced Options / Control Bar / Settings) allowing you
to have the Control Bar always visible when playing an Audio file
   in fullscreen.

+ A Zoom Player WMV Professional key will now activate WMV
features on the Zoom Player Professional executable
and using a Zoom Player Professional key on the
Zoom Player WMV Professional executable will only enable
   the Zoom Player Professional feature-set.

+ Slight change to the top-buttons on the media mode skin.

+ Further expansion and stability of the TCP/SendMessage interface.

+ The Filters in use Customized Media Mode listing now shows
the registration state for the selected profiles.

+ Going fullscreen now moves the Zoom Player window to the front.

 - Possible fix to AC3 Filter connection issues.

 - Auto Segment Loading could incorrectly match non-media files
(such as subtitle files with the same base name).

 - Mouse wheel would not work properly when the play list editor
window was visible before going to fullscreen.

 - Certain Flash files could lose audio when resizing window.

 - Loop current media file feature could cause a crash when playing
   non-DirectShow content (HTML/QuickTime/JPEG/Etc...).

 - Unicode file names will now show properly on the application task
bar (when the setting is enabled under Options / Settings / Other).

 - Tab switching in options dialog is now more logical.

A Zoom Player WMV Professional key will now activate WMV features on the Zoom Player Professional executable and using a Zoom Player Professional key on the Zoom Player WMV Professional executable will only enable the Zoom Player Professional feature-set.

Doesn't that then remove the need for the 2 seperate downloads?

The only difference between the two versions is that one when loaded in trial mode gives the WMV Pro functionality, while the other gives the only the Pro functionality. I don't want people to get confused as to which version they are buying.

I noticed that you decided not to add a feature to allow changing the sound card setting. You had replied to an earlier request that you were planning to do this. Any chance of this happenning. This link might provide you more motivation to implement this.

You mean changing the windows speaker count setting? Just something global while ZP is running, or something more advanced?

Bugs are still there!
I assume you did not respond to my post on June 2nd because I’m not a registered user? :)
Any way, ZP crashes in media mode when playing multiple shortcut files and it does not work properly in DVD mode when playing multiple ".ifo" files with “/Q” parameter.
I really like this player but the features that I need most don’t work! :(

Some GUI/Language things:

- Line 413 of "languagefile.diaog" won't be translated

- you might want to add some additional info under the questionmark-button (video renderer) about VMR7, like you did it with VMR9

- values & tools: last line ("Auto-Get Duration...") won't be translated/is missing in language-file

Paul:
I reply to everyone, but you can see the number of posts I answer here daily, sometimes things slip by, I don't remember your post :(

Regarding your report... What do you mean by playing multiple shortcut files, give an example.

Cought and fixed the /Q issue with IFO files, thanks.

swgreed:
Line 413 is "VMR9 Windowless" and I just checked and it translates fine... are you sure you're using the latest language file as a base? And remember, if you're just upgrading your older langauge file, you need to change the number of item counter which increased for the "SetCustDVDVideoRenderer" item...

"Auto-Get Duration..." is on line 377 for me. It's possible I forgot to copy over the langauge files in the ZIP version, try using the installer version.

araghava:
Ok, the speaker code is in, using a "/SPEAKER:[value]" command line. It will only work on the default sound card as making it support a non-default card through command line is impractical.

Blight:

ZP crashes after playing multiple shortcut files (two or more files) with /Q parameter or ZP crashes when you exit after playing multiple shortcut files (without /Q).

Example:
I created shortcut files as follow:
d:\soundtrcak\mv1\vts_01_1.vob --> d:\mv\file1.lnk
d:\soundtrcak\mv2\vts_01_1.vob --> d:\mv\file2.lnk
d:\soundtrcak\mv3\vts_01_1.vob --> d:\mv\file3.lnk

zplayer.exe /F /Q d:\mv\file1.lnk d:\mv\file2.lnk d:\mv\file3.lnk

Bugs/limitations with ZP RC3:

1) MEDIA FILES LARGER THAN 2GB CANNOT BE OPENED.

Whenever I try to open AVI files larger than 2GB an error/stop dialog pops up with text similar to:

"2149707776 is not a valid integer value."

When I click OK to this message the player just sits there. Can only close it via the taskbar or terminating the process.

Tested on two different computers with Windows XP and 2000.

2) CHAPTER EDITOR LIMITATION/IRRITATION

Imagine this. I pause the movie at a certain point and I want to add this as a chapter. I open the Chapter Editor and enter a name for the chapter. I click Add Current.
It annoys me that the 'Name' I enter is not used. It just adds the chapter with 'No title'

Just annoying :(

3) ZP WITH RESTRICTED USER ACCOUNTS

ZP has problems with user accounts which don't have administative permissions. I have mentioned that ZP does not always detect all DVD-filters on such account.
An other problem is that the configuration dialog seems to hang in the 'Association' part with such an account. Instead of doing this an error dialog would be preferred.

It might not be a big issue for most users, but not everyone wants to give all their users full control over the box just to run software.
___

That's all for today. I pretty new to ZP, but it has really impressed me so far.

devoured:
1. Known, Fixed.
2. Made a change.
3. I'll have to investigate this, although media playback has quite a few issues which may require full access to the system.

PaulM:
I couldn't duplicate this issue, I ran 3 VOBs through shortcuts and they loaded just fine. I did make a few changes to the code that might make a change, but I'm not really sure.
