I have downloaded and installed Nero Showtime (trial).

I have configured Zoom Player as best as I know how, to use the Nero filters/codecs etc.

If I try to play a Quicktime trailer via Zoom Player, I get video, but no audio.

However, if I try to play the same trailer in the Nero Showtime Player it plays, and I get audio.

Where am I going wrong? What do I need to configure to get the Audio?

Please help. THANKS!

You may actually need to add a new profile for the audio

I'm attaching the files to this posting, extract the ZIP into the "MediaAutoGraph" directory under ZP.

@Blight

Thanks very much for the files!

However, I unzipped them to the correct folder, and it doesnt seem to make any difference?

Can you please take another look at this? Or tell me if I need to do something else?

I get Audio no problem when using the Quicktime or Nero Players.

THANKS!

soleinvictus72:
There were several other thread posted recently about this very subject... perhaps you can find more information in one of these threads.

@Blight (or anyone who can help)

Thank you for the info. I read all the posts I could find prior to posting.

Unfortunately I dont see any one definitive answer as to exactly what splitter / decoder / filter needs to be used where, to ensure a result.

Perhaps someone can post a definitive answer to the whole problem?

For my part, I did the following:

- after installing Nero Showtime (trial)
- I then disabled the 'Use Quicktime Active X component to play Quicktime files'
- and then under Customised Media Playback > Audio and Video Decoders > Video Decoders > H264 > I configured ZP to use the Nero Video Decoder

This has resulted in completely jitter free playback of H264 Quicktime videos at a low level of processor use (and this on a P3 1ghz).

So, video: No Problem.

Audio: Still a problem

I do not get any audio. There must be a straight forward configuration setting that I have not yet made that will solve this problem?

If I play the video directly in Nero Showtime, I get audio playback.

Hopefully someone can help solve this issue as Quicktime playback in ZP would seem to be a necessary part of basic functionality for a lot of people.

THANKS!

Can you point (provide a link) to the problematic trailer?

@Blight,

Actually, its all the trailers that are in my Meedio Trailer Library. They are downloaded to the hard drive (does ZP now play streaming quicktime?), but here are the streaming links of some of the same trailers:

http://movies.apple.com/405/us/media/trail...ives_h.i640.mov

http://movies.apple.com/405/us/media/trail...ador_h.i640.mov

http://movies.apple.com/405/us/media/trail...land_h.i640.mov

Thanks for your help. :woot:

I can't help, but I'm in the same boat as you. Fantastic picture using Directshow but NO AUDIO. Again, Nero Showtime has no problem with this, but I'd much rather use Zoom.

I tried Blight's download a few posts up, but again it didn't make a difference. I even tried the answer outlined in this post...

But no luck!

Can anyone help at all????

Actually,

ANYONE who has managed to get this going, we'd be grateful for any time spent in helping us to get it working as well.

WHAT I'VE LEARNT SO FAR....

I managed to get ONE trailer working under directshow (the first King Kong trailer). I had to install the CoreAAC filter to get it working, and it works quite well. However, I can't get the second King Kong trailer (the new one) or the Harry Potter Goblet of Fire trailer working. What I discovered is that the first KK trailer has an AAC stereo 44.1kHz stream. The other 2 I can't get to work yet both have AAC 5.1 48kHz streams.

I'm still doing some research to try and sort this out. If I find a solution I'll report back.

OK! Got this working, although not via Customised Media Playback.

Follow my first steps for the video playback, then:

- download CoreAAC (free) from here: http://rarewares.org/aac.html
- unzip the file (to a permanent location - i used c:\program files) and double click on the file named: register_release.bat to install

Playing the file gives me these errors (with 'Show Customised Media Graph creation errors' switched on):

- Could not find a suitable decoder for "[Source File: Customised Graph]. Video Out" Sub Types: {31435641-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}

- Pin Connection Warning (Not an Error): [Source File: Customised Graph]. Audio Out -> [Nero Digital Audio Decoder].Digital Audio In. Code: There is no common media type between these pins (80040207)

- Could not create a Customised Media Graph will now try a standard graph...

The file then plays perfectly, with video, audio, and a low processor level. :huh:

@Blight (or Roscoe62) perhaps you can post what the Customised Graph should be, please?

BTW...
I got the King Kong and The Fountain 720p trailers to play just fine using Haali's Media Splitter and FFDShow (for both AAC and H264).

According to Apple's spec, you need a 2.8ghz P4 to play the 720p files. I was able to play them on a 2.53mhz machine in ZP (by disabling post processing in ffdshow).
