Heya guys, I was just reading a guide on how to set up my HTPC. What I was wanting to do is run the FFDSHOW filter with the Cinemaster Codecs through Zoomplayer. Now the error I am getting is a

Filter Connection Error:

[Sonic Cinemaster DS Video Decoder]. Video Out --> [FFDShow Video Processor].In

And under that it says Pins did not accept connection

Can you guys please help me out?

Thanks!

Same problem here.
Nvidia video card.
Unregistering FFDSHOW allows zoom player to work but that looses some nice filtering options

Did you enable the "AllowAllRenderers" registry entry for sonic?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sonic\Cinemaster DS DVD\2.5\VideoDecoder

Add a new "dword" key called "AllowAllRenderers" and set its value to "1".

Blight: Thanks for the reply. I tried that but when I set that value it crashes ZoomPlayer whenever I try to play a DVD.

Any other suggestions?

Here's a screenshot of how this should look in the registry.

Also, make sure hardware acceleration is disabled and VMR support is enabled in the sonic cinemaster control panel applet.

Blight everything is like that and now zoomplayer crashes.

Here is what it says, when i look for more info.

AppName: zplayer.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: ffdshow.ax
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 000a5503

I can send the whole error raport to you if it helps. Do you want it?

That's actually FFDShow that crashes. You can try different versions of FFDShow, I believe I currently use ffdshow-20040319.exe

I have been following this thread with interest.

I have exactly the same problem as Mage79's original post. I also followed the guide on HTPCNews to do the setup.

Tried everything suggested in this thread to this point including Blight's version of FFDShow, same problem...

Does anyone have any ideas to resolve this problem??

Edit: Problem resolved!! (was a slight spelling error on the registry entry)

Thanks,

Tim

I am seeing the same crash as Anttimie.

That is, a Windows dialog ... "zplayer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." box, with "Send Error Report" and "Dont send" buttons.

More info gives me:
AppName: zplayer.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: ffdshow.ax
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 000b2e23

So, I can see that ffdshow is the problem, but does anyone know how I might resolve it?

Thanks

Dave

Might be a different version of ffdshow.

I've tried the new one, some old ones, and the mentioned in this thread, above. I guess I'll have to play around some more ...

Well, I tried a different DVD and it WORKED!!

Is this normal?

The one that will not work is the UK (Region 2, PAL) version of 'Touching the Void'. Other disks (PAL and NTSC) seem to work OK.

Thanks for your help!

My problem was because I was playing a PAL DVD.

This is from another post (which I've lost now damn it ...)

ffdshow does not support DFC's (Dynamic Format Changes) that the video decoder normally sends to the Overlay Mixer to resize the video surfaces from 720x480 NTSC to 720x576 PAL.

For PAL is your thing, add a DWORD registry value named "HardCodeForPal" in the HKLM\Software\Sonic\Cinemaster DS DVD\2.5\VideoDecoder directory and set it 0x00000001 and this will hardwire the video decoder to instruct ffdshow that PAL size surfaces are what it needs to allocate from the get go.

Thanks for your help!
