Thanks Blight.
I've finally got my video working again (I don't know how many reboots and installations later, for better video drivers), and I'm having a bit of difficulty with getting ZP [preview 7, hooray!] to abide by my filter file. Naturally, it's got the timestretch filter, and, for whatever reason, it is not presently included when graphs get assembled.

I'll mess around for a while to see what I can figure out, tinker with little settings here and there. Sorry for posting some of this crap in this thread where it doesn't belong.

Are there any fixes for the shortcut-handling already integrated?

I have the following issue:
I use shortcuts in the media-library that point to an "executable" as shortcuts for DVDs. So in other words, I start a shortcut through the navigator that should start an executable with some special parameters and this will fire back to ZP (through EventGhost) the actual VIDEO_TS.IFO to start as a commandline parameter to ZP.

But it seems that ZP5 is trying to open the shortcut as an video file, although .LNK is registered for executables in the options. So it reports "could not find a suitable decoder". The registered executable for the shortcut is never started.

I've confirmed my 'next file' and 'previous file' playing problem in Preview 7. In the meantime, I've gone back to Preview 6, which doesn't exhibit this behaviour. The 'play next or previous file in folder' function was the single reason I bought a ZP Pro licence in the first place, and as such, it's the single most important feature in ZP for me. I certainly don't want ZP to be my image viewer (I want ZP to play video files, and nothing else), but there seems to be no option in Preview 7 to disable this behaviour. And what makes it worse in Preview 7, is that ZP will not go past an image file once it comes to it, basically breaking the entire next/previous file feature in the process.

Blight: please, please, please (with sugar on top), change ZP's next/previous behaviour back to what it was before Preview 7!

Regards,

CM

It's not exactly a bug in Preview 7 but I think it's not good to load automatically next segments (using either script or regular expression) when the NVidia's Multisource filters is used as File Source. In this case ZP adds all files to the filter which plays them as one. As a result all other segments (files) in the playlist are useless.
This problem is not bound to preview7 only but to all versions untill now. I wrote here because this is the most recent one.

I seem to have an issue where if I resize the player smaller then the size of the previous played video, the interface(skin) will go completely black. Resizing to larger then the first played video will put the interface back or restarting ZP will fix it too. This is of course in windowed mode.

ehathgepiurhe:
You can relax, we're rewriting some backend code so that meta-data could be more flexibly supported in future version of ZP and it caused this issue to creep up, but no worries, fixed.

ExtraEye:
Thanks for the heads up, I'll make sure that setting doesn't kick in exclusive mode.

bitmonster:
Try removing the .LNK extension... it may cause conflicts with the new shortcut code.
Let me know if the problem persist.

mitko:
It's a problem since all the files are added to the play list before the graph is played and ZP knows that the nvidia filter is in use.

bugmenotplz:
Are you using the NVIDIA 9x.xx drivers? There is a similar (the same?) bug when these drivers are used.
If you're not using these drivers, are you using the default skin? (might be a bug in the skin-script of the skin you're using)

How can I take this new "FolderImage Skin-Script function" into use? And what parameters does it need?

I have waited this kind of feature very much. The ID3 texts of MP3 files would be now readable regardless the style of image if they dont' overlap each other.

I am using 84.x drivers and the default skin. I was certain this didnt happen in preview 6, I will revert or reinstall and see if I can duplicate it.

Those 91.xx drivers are full of bugs, plus none of the purevideo settings stick now. What a PITA.

You're telling me... NVIDIA used to have great drivers, now it's like they've taken a step backwards. I believe the new interface is due to microsoft posting a standardized interface for VISTA. But seriously, it looks horrific, even the colors are bad on my system (black text on dark blue background for some items).

I've found a bug in the GoTo dialog.
The milliseconds of the time are shown in a 4 digit space
00:00:38.0948 should be 00:00:38.948

Ok, it works as executables this way. But the executable seems not to get the parameters that are defined in the shortcut.

Thanks Blight,

Can the FolderImage be drawn somehow to the video area? My goal is to draw album cover to other side of the window and ID3 tags to the other side. Or do you have any other suggestion to this kind of solution?

I noticed that the navigator page up/page down works on all the new navigators, except the main one(The one you get when you keep pushing left).

I've found a bug in Preview 7,

When I use command-line to set /CPR:0,
eg: "C:\Program Files\Zoom Player\zplayer.exe" /CPR:0 /PLAY %1"
all the color control keys will be disabled.

Thanks

Hi Blight,

Whew, that's good news - the back and forward in folder is the most important feature to me, and there was no reason to change it to what it was in Preview 7, so I'm glad those issues will be fixed with it.

Also, I have found another bug in v5 Preview (I'm still running 6 because of the backwards/forwards problems in 7):
I had a directory of video files, and I was moving backwards and forwards through them. ZP came to on that had 'zip' in the filename (but it was a mpg file - for example test_file_zip.mpg). When it came to play this file, ZP popped up an error message:
"An error has occurred!
There was a problem extracting test_file_zip.mpg, make sure the Archive Extraction command line is specified correctly"
It's the 'zip' in the filename that is confusing ZP. It looks like ZP looks for that to tell whether it should extract from the archive or not, but it should only look for at as the last three characters, after a full stop (ie the file extension). Problably if I name the file test_file.zip.mpg, ZP would also have the error come up. Just to be clear though, it is a mpg file. It only has 'zip' in the filename. It is not an archive.

Regards,

CM

When the "Allow EXT anywhere in name" checkbox is enabled, Zoom Player will look for the archive extension within the file name itself (as long as the extension isn't aligned to a letter or number). For example, "Myfiles.zip.mp3" would be detected as a zip file while "zippididua.mp3" would be treated as a standard MP3 file.

some things about the file navigator:

- the play all files in directory functionality is dearly missed in preview 7...

- upon entering the file navigator usually the currently playing/opened file was selected. in preview 7 it doesn't have this behavior anymore. sometimes it merely remembers the last position...then sometimes it selects the folder you browsed last, or it just jumps back to the top item, if you browsed outside the current folder. i really prever the old behavior.

- this problem is rather old, not just apparent in preview 7. once you have a usb-stick/drive attached to the computer, the file navigator always jumps to this stick/drive regardless what file is opened. the above mentioned file navigator behavior applies also here: the currently playing/opened file should be selected imo.

- the currently selected file/folder/drive is highlighted with a yellow box and white fontcolor. imo the readability could be fastly improved here (black fontcolor for example). my eyesight isn't the best, and i really prever readability instead of eyecandy in this case.

I'm using preview7 quite happily except I use the facility to launch a same-named html file as the media file to display info in the html file about the playing media file.

This html rendering navigator seems to have acquired a big "Web Information" banner at the top that I can't find the option to turn off. Also the default blue gradient background has returned for navigator borders - what option do I use to turn that into a plain black background ( as it was in my personal config of preview5 ) ?

mitko:
noted, fixed.

bitmonster:
fixed it so parmaters are now passed (and also a fix for unicode paths inside shortcut files).

lvlaasal:
You can do it by specifying the video coordinates, but you may want to do it the another way by using DrawExText to draw the ID3 data one place and then FolderImage to draw the image elsewhere.

bugmenotplz:
Thanks, fixed.

ehathgepiurhe:
There is an option for ZP whether to look at the extension or also in the file name itself. It's a checkbox next to the archive defintion (Option / Values / Other).

It's intentional (but optional as I mentioned earlier) as some audio albums come as "my audio.zip.mp3" and they are in fact zip files.

louismo:
I'm not sure i understand you, which keys, keyboard? user interface buttons? I'm not sure exactly what you mean.

Kanel:
doh, after I wrote all that text for ehathgepiurhe wink.gif

mASSIVe:
1. It's not missing, it's been moved to the functions, where it belongs.
2. I believe I fixed this (internally), if it's still a problem in the next release, notify me (with full details).
3. This seems related to #2, check new release once it's out.
4. I'm not sure I updated the file navigator to the new display mode (like the play list and media library) in preview 7, if it still looks like the older navigators, then don't worry, preview 8 will have a whole new look.

groovyclam:
The reason it appears like that is for conformity of navigation intefaces. You can change the color of the background by modifying the background image (ZP\Skin\NavData\lsnav_background.bmp), but the layout will remain as is.
