http://twitter.com/zoomplayer (the official Inmatrix twitter feed)

It's been "coming" for a little while now. It seems RC2 entered testing on Aug 20. Don't know what the holdup is, the testing is internal and the beta forum is private. The new wallpaper software Inmatrix has just released may be a factor, or it just may still have too many bugs. Still, I don't like the sound of the new version - Max HD. I already have Max (which was supposed to be the fullest featured version) and I don't plan to pay for another "this is the true full featured" version. None of the mockups of the new features take my fancy either (a tiny image file is not really enough to even tell what the new feature is meant to be), so yeah - I'm not really looking forward to this new release I have to say. I'd prefer they concentrated on the customer service part of the current release for the moment, this forum used to have quite a vibrant little community - now it is pretty much dead. Blight hasn't logged in since last year, and a lot of the queries just go unanswered. It's a shame sad.gif

Well, 2 news bulletin which can relax the viewers :

1. I'm a new moderator, and am going to become increasingly involved in supporting this forum, so although this was a problem, it is being taken care of in these very days.

2. It is true that an OFFICIAL release of ZP7 has not yet been released.
Every effort is being made to resolve as many bugs as possible before it's official release.
ZP7 RC2 is great now that many bugs have been resolved.
You can download ZP7 RC2 if you wish to try it for yourself : http://t.inmatrix.com/pre3_zp700rc2max.exe

Stay on the up and up boxing.gif

Thanks. Downloaded, and I might just give it a test run - I'm not convinced yet that there will be much in the new version for me personally, but I'm willing to be convinced otherwise smile.gif

Thanks Booga for this pre-release. Unfortunately it is for the max licence only. Do you happen to have a pre-release for the premium licence as well?

It's still pre-release (RC2 is still being tested basically). This pre-release is mainly for testing purposes and early adopters only. Until it reaches 'final' RC2 status, it won't be posted to the main page. Even then it is possible that they may not announce to the main page until the final v7 release. They did announce the RC1 on the main page though, so it is likely they will announce RC2 as well. But thanks to boogafreak - it is not often that an otherwise private test version of a program is posted for the general masses to try thumbup.gif

Is it OK to post impressions about pre-release versions of RC2?

Super. I did notice one thing right after installing. I have the Show Time Seek Position Over Timeline option enabled, and when I very quickly run the mouse from outside the Zoom Player window, over the timeline part of the Zoom Player window, and onto the video area of Zoom Player, the tooltip that shows the time does not disappear. So, when you move away from the timeline, the tooltip is meant to disappear - but if you move away from the timeline very quickly, it does not disappear, it stays visible, obscuring the video a little bit. Apart from that, haven't had much of a chance to test. Still looking for the new features (we usually have a changelog to help with this), so I can test them out. So, going through the context menus looking for those.

Bugs reported in RC1 related to color control resetting with FFDShow not working and subtitle settings with FFDShow and media mode are still in pre3-RC2. Here's a pointer to the bug reports for easy reference:

FFDShow color controls (restore original) not working:

FFDShow subtitle settings and ZP subtitle hotkey not working:

ehathgepiurhe:
I can't replicate the seek-position hint window staying. Does it also happen when playing audio files or is it only limited to video files?

therealjoeblow:
Fixed Shift+B not working.

The restore color levels is now remembered, but it's specific to the overlay color settings, not ffdshow.

Could you extend the functionality to include resetting FFDShow colors *if* it has been selected as the replacement for Overlay? VMR7 and VRM9 with ATI cards don't support any hardware color controls, that's why I'm using the new FFDShow option, but without the full functionality, well, there's no point...

ALSO: are you able to fix the "Always start with media subtitles hidden" not working when subs are embedded in .mkv? For me the subs always start enabled, no matter what the setting - which is why I wanted SHIFT-B to work :-) but if the main bug is fixed, then I don't need SHIFT-B anymore :-)

Cheers,
The REAL Joe

I found only one bug (not sure if it is present in previous versions):

In advanced options Interface/Mouse, if you select "Move Window" for Left Click on Windows 7, and use your mouse to move the window from within the video area, the window is moved by about two times more than it should. In other words, it doesn't stay under the cursor, but jumps away.

This works under Windows XP (same version).

I hope you can forward this to someone.. Thanks.

p.s. Zoom Player is the best thumbup.gif
